I just arrived back in Melbourne from two weeks in remote bushland bliss at Bundanon. While on residency, I walked, read, wrote, filmed tests in the studio and among the kangaroos, gumtrees and fields, developing ideas for a new video work exploring Australian identity and aesthetics through the lens of Robin Boyd’s 1967 The Australian Ugliness.
